Terms & Conditions

Use of our website and purchase of goods from the website are governed by our terms and conditions as set out below. "We" or "Our" means Betta Electrical and/or the Appliance Network Society Ltd. "You" or "your" means the person accessing, using, or ordering from our website over the Internet.

1. Prices, description, and availability of goods
All goods are sold subject to availability and our acceptance of the sale. Where goods are temporarily out of stock, we will contact you and advise you of this and the expected timing for delivery. Whilst we take our utmost care to ensure the product descriptions, pictures, information, stock status and prices are accurate we do not accept liability for any inaccuracies, errors, or omissions. Orders are accepted at our sole discretion, and we maintain the right to decline orders without giving an explanation.

2. Payment methods
We accept Visa, MasterCard & Q Card payments through our Windcave payment gateway. We also accept direct bank deposits/internet banking (NZ customers only). You may pay by any other payment methods which we may add to our site from time to time. Your use of any payment services to purchase products will be subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable payment processor.  All orders will be dispatched upon clearance.

3. Q Card
You can use your Q Card to make online purchases at bettaelectrical.co.nz*and receive at least 3 months no payments and no interest (Payment Holiday) on your purchase. To use Q Card online simply select 'Credit Card' as your payment type when you check-out, enter your Q Card number, expiry date and CVV number. (Your CVV number is a 3-digit number displayed on the back on your Q Card).

* Purchases from bettaelectrical.co.nz will be on your Q EFTPOS Plan.
^ Information about Q Card: A minimum purchase amount may be required. Account fees may apply. Available on Flexi Payment, Fixed Instalment or EFTPOS Plans. For interest free only deals, monthly payments may be required throughout interest free period. Q Card Standard Interest Rate applies to any outstanding balance at end of payment holiday or interest free period. Q Card lending criteria, fees, terms, and conditions apply.

4. GST
All goods sold in NZ include Goods & Services Tax (GST).

5. Delivery and Collection of Goods from Stores
Usually we can arrange delivery of your new appliance within 3-10 working days, depending on your location, stock availability and our delivery partners. Mostly deliveries are 3-6 working days.

We deliver to customers Monday to Friday and up to 5pm. Our delivery fees for purchases made from our website are based on the most competitive rates we have from our delivery partners.

Unfortunately we are not able to deliver to Post Boxes. If we deem your order or anything relating to your order suspicious, we will postpone the delivery until we can confirm all relevant details.

There are some conditions we ask you consider relating to the delivery of your new appliance.

  • Rural delivery - Please contact us if your address is a rural RD address. We may not be able to guarantee delivery to an RD address or meet our normal timeframe for delivery.
  • Delivery of your new appliance - Our delivery partners are contracted to deliver your new appliance to your property. Usually, they will help to deliver the appliance to a garage or easy to get to door or entrance way. Our delivery partners will not install your new appliance, unpack your appliance from its protective packaging or help you lift it up stairs.
  • Please provide with your order a daytime contact telephone number so the freight company can call you before they attempt delivery. A mobile number is best.
  • If our delivery partners attempt a delivery to your home and you are not home or for whatever reason the delivery cannot be completed, we may charge you an additional delivery fee to deliver your appliance.
  • If you reject the delivery attempt by telling our delivery partners that you will not accept the delivery/appliance for whatever reason, we have the right to charge you for the delivery fee, a second delivery fee if we have to redeliver another time and a restocking fee.

If you select to collect your order from the store or Auckland Betta Electrical (which is the support office for Betta Electrical), you must wait for confirmation from the store or support office that your order has been confirmed, the goods are in stock and when it is ready for collection. Not all items can be collected from all stores as this is subject to availability. 

6. Warranty
Purchasing your new appliance from our website gives you the same warranty protection as buying direct from one of our Betta Electrical stores and your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 still protect you. The Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not cover any purchases of goods made for business purposes; however, they may be covered by a manufacturer's warranty. For extra peace-of-mind consider purchasing an extended warranty. You will find this option on most product pages on our website and in the same cell as the "add to cart" button.

7. Returns and Refunds
If you are shopping in one of our Betta Electrical stores, we will make sure by asking you the right questions, you are purchasing the correct appliance for your new home, but online this is not as easy. If you need help or have questions about your new appliance, please contact us first so we can give you the right advice before you purchase online. If you do purchase online and want to return the product you purchased or cancel your order, we will only agree to do this after consultation with you and provided we feel there is a valid reason for processing a refund, or exchange. Simply changing your mind is not a valid reason. In this situation we may still consider refunding your purchase however there will be a charge for doing so to cover our costs. Our costs will be a $25 admin/refund fee, the credit card charges we have incurred being 1.75% of the purchase value and any applicable restocking fee. Freight from your address back to us will be at your cost and responsibility.

Any return will only be accepted based on the above and if the product is still in its original unopened packaging, is undamaged and in the complete condition as it was shipped to you.
Except for software, personal hygiene products and headphones we will consider your exchange or warranty request. This does not mean we will refund your purchase.  Refunds will be processed if we agree to refund by either a credit to your normal credit card if you have paid using our Windcave payment gateway, or as a direct credit to your bank account.  You will be required to give us your bank account details to make this happen.  Purchases made via PayPal where a refund is agreed to will be processes as a direct debit to your bank account and not as a refund through the PayPal system.

8. General Terms
By continuing to browse and use the Betta Electrical website you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by all terms and conditions of use, which together with our privacy policy govern our relationship with you in relation to this website.
The use of this website is subject to the following terms of use:

1. The content of the Betta Electrical website is for our customer use only, cannot be copied by any third party and is subject to change without notice.

2. Your use of any information or materials on this website is entirely at your own risk, for which we shall not be liable. It shall be your own responsibility to ensure that any products, services, or information available through this website meet your specific requirements.

3. This website contains material which is owned by or licensed to us. This material includes, but is not limited to, the design, layout, look, appearance, and graphics. Reproduction is prohibited other than in accordance with the copyright notice, which forms part of these terms and conditions.

4. You acknowledge that such information and materials may contain inaccuracies or errors and we expressly exclude liability for any such inaccuracies or errors to the fullest extent permitted by law.

5. All trademarks reproduced in this website which are not the property of, or licensed to, the operator are acknowledged on the website.

6. Unauthorised use of this website may give rise to a claim for damages and/or be a criminal offence.

7. From time to time this website may also include links to other websites. These links are provided for your convenience to provide further information. They do not signify that we endorse the website(s). We have no responsibility for the content of the linked website(s).

8. You may not create a link to this website from another website or document without our prior written consent or use any content by copying images, text, design, or source code.

9. Your use of this website and any dispute arising out of such use of the website is subject to the laws of New Zealand.

9. Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. We will never ask you for more information that is necessary for you to do business online with us without first asking your permission. Our website uses a completely secure checkout page to process your private payment details. We use Windcave to process credit card payments. At Betta Electrical we do not hold on file any customer customers credit card details. The following outlines how we handle information we do hold:

  • We will not collect personally identifiable information like your name, e-mail and mailing address and telephone number ("Personal Information") without your knowledge and permission.
  • We will not disclose your Personal Information to third parties unless you have authorized us to do so.
  • We will take reasonable steps to protect the security of the personal Information we collect from you.

When you place an order online on the Betta Electrical website, we will ask you to provide certain information about yourself, such as your name, mailing address, or e-mail address. The personal information you submit when placing your order is treated as confidential. We use this information to process your transaction, and we share the information with only Visa and MasterCard in order to process your order and our freight partners for delivery of your order.

10. Cookies
Cookies allow our website to remember you. If we didn't use cookies you would have to enter your details each time you visited. If you really prefer not to use cookies you can set your browser preferences to not accept cookies. Most websites however, including the Betta Electrical website, require cookies to process your order.

11. Trends, Tracking & Sharing Information
Betta Electrical uses standard software for monitoring statistical information such as how many visitors we have to our websites and what countries they are coming from. These statistics are viewed on an aggregate basis and help us get general overviews of customer trends. We do not look at individual customer data. Personal information specific to each Vendor's sales is treated as strictly confidential and will only be reviewed or examined in the event of a dispute, claim, error, or customer request.
