History of Appliance Network Society Ltd
BETTA ELECTRICAL NEW ZEALAND

The “Simpson Network” was formed in 1989 by what is now Electrolux Home Products Ltd. The founding members were selected and appointed nation-wide as a “network” to promote and sell the Simpson brand products. On February 15 th 1993 the society was formally registered and the Simpson Network became the Appliance Network Society Ltd. At this time almost all of the members were entirely whiteware dealers, with a large percentage being service orientated.

In June 1994 agreement was reached with Betta Stores Ltd in Australia to provide Appliance Network Society Limited with the sole rights to a Betta Electrical marketing licence for New Zealand . By September 1994, a Nation wide chain of well identified Betta Electrical stores commenced identifying to the new Betta Electrical standards. By the late 1990's Betta Electrical had become recognized in the industry as a progressive and professional organization with a nation wide network of multibrand whites, brown goods and small appliances.

All Betta Electrical stores are independently owned and operated, and are dedicated to providing the best possible service and products to their customers in their trading area.

Smeg and Baumatic branded products are now exclusive to our society members.

We are introducing the exciting “Generation 2” store concept to the New Zealand marketplace. Generation 2 stores will be large urban stores that will introduce new design and layout concepts to New Zealand . Three of these stores are now completed and are trading very successfully.

Betta also has an exclusive relationship with the New Zealand Automobile Association, being a partner in the AA Reward Points program

The positioning statement of the Betta Electrical brand is ‘The brands you want from the people you trust'. Products have nationwide service and parts back-up. Our branding signifies:
